Session 2:
Creating a Culture of Civility: What’s Your Role?
Purpose:
The purpose of this workshop is to help leaders see how they help
create the norms by which their team operates. In order to create a
culture of high morale and productivity it is vital for the leader
to be able to stop inappropriate behavior as well as model
appropriate behavior. The business case is strong: workplaces that
create a culture of civility have less turnover, less absenteeism,
and a more productive workforce.

These objectives will be met by a variety of processes including
large and small group discussion, individual reflection and peer
coaching.

result of this workshop participants will be able to:
-
Define
civility and discuss what it looks like in their organization.
-
Become aware of their personal
values and how they impact their leadership.
-
Write their personal and
professional standards and understand how they can help them
clearly communicate boundaries and expectations to employees.
-
Acknowledge personal habits and
external forces that sometimes prevent them from living up to
their values and standards.

overcome these barriers and be proactive in creating a culture
of civility and success in their organization.

module is to help participants understand that leadership style has

talents outside of their natural tendencies is critical.

use of the DISC interpersonal style profile, analysis of the profile
and application to workplace situations involving individuals with
different styles. A focus on strengthening the ability to be
versatile is a key application in this module.

session, participants will…
-
Have an understanding of what
their natural style tendencies are
-
Learn to identify the styles of
the people around them
